Is Lord Rama a resident of Telangana or Seemandhra .Telangana and seemandhra campaigners are busy fighting over Bhadrachalam and claiming stake on Lord Rama temple. ‘Seemandhra has 4 money minting temples at Srisailam, Vijayawada, Tirupati and Simhachalam and we have none’ the T agitators cry foul hoarsely .
Bhadrachalam revenue division was under British rule from 1768 to 1925, originally as part of the combined Godavari district and later from 1925 as part of the west Godavari district of Madras Presidency. Later, it was a part of the newly created Andhra state from 1952 to 1956, until it was incorporated into the newly carved Khammam district in 1959 as a part of Telangana region.
Now the TDP and BJP are supporting the Antony committee for giving Bhadrachalam to Seemandhra on the ground of pre-1956 status quo. ‘ You can not have both Hyderabad and Bhadrachalam .If you want Bhadrachalam, you have to share Hyderabad as well’ seems the centre and seemandhra argument.
