YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is on a spree of promises is giving no holds-barred illogical promises. In his latest such promise, Jagan said that YSRCP would bring new rule that companies should provide 75 per cent of employment to locals. Jagan said that YSRCP would bring this rule if voted to power.
While on paper this looks wonderful, the major problem and main challenge that major companies often face is the lack of skilled people.
If such rules are brought, certainly, companies wouldn’t be interested to come and it would cause more damage. With Andhra Pradesh already struggling hard to get investments and state government is campaigning globally for investments from MNCs – latest is that AP is advertising on buses in Davos ahead of the World Economic Forum (WEF), Jagan’s promises seem to work in the opposite way.
No doubt the promise of Jagan gets thumbs up from masses as he is playing to the gallery, but the reality says the other way around. In run up to 2019 elections, Jagan is leaving no stone unturned to win the masses. The moot question is that will smart voters trust Jagan’s vows?
