Touch Chesi Chudu Movie Review and Rating
Touch Chesi Chudu is a routine commercial entertainer blended in a way to suit Raviteja’s trademark style. The film looked promising from the outset but it turned out to be a tedious fare with over the top action and execution.
What is it about?
Karthikeya (Raviteja) is a businessman who gives utmost importance to his family. He falls in love with Pushpa (Rashi) and she too reciprocates. However, there is a hidden past behind this calm and cool Karthikeya. His originality comes out after he gets to know that Irffan a notorious criminal is alive. What is the story behind Karthikeya and who is Irffan?
Performances:
Raviteja’s styling and appearance is similar to that of Raja the Great. He might have done both the films in parallel. He is energetic as usual and lifts many scenes with his inimitable performance. Rashi Khanna is good in the initial scenes. She is liberal with skin show to add spice to the proceedings. Seerat Kapoor couldn’t act but tries her best to cover up her weakness with oodles of skin show. Murali Sharma is decent and Vennela Kishore has some funny moments. Rajesh, Jaya Prakash, Jeeva and Suhasini are commendable in supporting roles.
Technicalities:
Director Vikram Sirikonda is not the writer for the film. Vakkantam Vamsi’s story is as old as hills and Deepak Raj’s screenplay is very ordinary. There is not much that a debutante director can do with such stale script on hands. Vikram couldn’t bring any freshness with the treatment and execution. He made this film like many other so called commercial directors. One would expect something fresh with a new director wielding the megaphone, but Vikram’s direction lacks charm and freshness.
Music by Jam 8 is neither grand nor catchy. Very ordinary tunes have been shot without much visual appeal. Mani Sharma’s background music is good. Cinematography, stunts and editing are strictly standard. Production values are good.

Analysis:
Touch Chesi Chudu promised to be a power packed entertainer from its promos, but it turned out to be a boring, cliched and super tedious product that offers little novelty. Wonder what element in Vakkantam Vamsi’s story grabbed the attention of Mass Maharaja. In fact he played cop character in many other films in the past, which were way better than this.
There are a few twists and turns in the screenplay penned by Deepak Raj. But they are totally predictable and the new director did a pretty bad job in executing them. First half is passable because of typical Raviteja’s comedy and an entertaining romance track between the lead pair. There are ups and downs in the first half too, but it doesn’t bother much as the comedy clicks.
Second half runs on a serious note as Raviteja suddenly transforms into a duty minded police officer. There is another heroine, but she is there for the namesake. There is hardly any chemistry between Raviteja and Seerat. Even the villain characters are supremely clichéd and super boring. Raviteja does his best to lift the routine scenes with his flawless performance, but there is nothing that is exciting about the story to keep the audience interested.
There is a poor attempt of ending the film on a comedic note by reintroducing Raviteja as a fun loving cop. It might have clicked with proper screenplay and engaging scenes. But Touch Chesi Chudu seems like they have taken an escapist route to end the film in an entertaining fashion. There are a few action blocks that made some impact, but they are very few and far between. Even and ever energetic Raviteja couldn’t save this one.
Verdict: Touch me not!
