Probably, Chandrababu Naidu is one of the very few senior leaders in the country who has mastered national politics. Having understood, absorbed the national-level politics with his vast experience, Naidu is now swiftly making his political moves. Often regarded as Chanikya, Naidu is back to sharpen his political moves that may trouble BJP in coming days.
No doubt, Modi-Amit Shah are politically strong and doing extensive exercise to strengthen BJP in all regions. But this is easier said than done. While BJP is zero in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, it has no influence over AP, Telangana politics. In Karnataka too, Congress is dominating the politics. In Odisha too, BJP has a strong contender in the form of Naveen Patnaik’s BJD. Unseating Naveen Patnaik in 2019 assembly elections is a path that is rocky.
In Telangana, TRS and Congress dominate the politics. In Andhra Pradesh, TDP, Janasena and YSRCP are the major players. In Maharashtra, BJP can’t march to victory on its own. Now that its key ally Shiv Sena declared not to team up with BJP in 2019 elections, BJP is likely to face a tough situation. Whereas in West Bengal Mamata Banerjee’s TMC and CPM rule the roost. All these make BJP confine to North. In recent by-elections in Rajasthan, Congress swept in all 3 seats, limiting BJP to zero. This is certainly a shocker.
On the other hand, Naidu is also said to be in touch with Tamil Nadu politicians. Apparently, Chandrababu Naidu is closely observing the strengths of BJP and the moves of Modi-Shah duo.
Considering the future of people of AP and the progress of State in mind, Naidu doesn’t want to ‘spoil’ the relation between BJP and TDP as of now. He smartly thrown the ball into BJP’s court. By telling his MPs to attack BJP in Parliament, Naidu wants BJP to make the first move to break its bond with TDP. This will be a smart technique by Naidu to project BJP in the bad light in AP. This could help him gain mileage politically too.
