Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s main condition for continuing the alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party is not fulfilling the promises made in the AP Reorganisation Act, but is that the Centre should not entertain YSR Congress party and its president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
While creating an impression that the TDP has been fighting for securing justice to the state in the budget, Naidu is learnt to have put a condition that the YSRC leaders should not be allowed to enter the Prime Minister’s Office. He reportedly told his party MPs to bring this to the notice of the Centre.
Naidu was angry with the reports that YSRC Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy was regularly seen in the corridors of the PMO and was meeting all top officials there.
Soon after the TDP MPs led by ministers Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Sujana Chowdary were called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to his chambers in Parliament to douse the unrest among the party MPs, Sai Reddy also sent a letter seeking appointment with Modi. This terribly upset Naidu in Amaravati.
“It clearly shows that YSRC is trying to spoil all the good work done by the TDP and does not want any credit to go to the TDP. This is atrocious. Let us expose the YSRC leaders and keep an eye on the movements of Jagan and his agents in Delhi,” Naidu reportedly told them.
He is learnt to have asked the PMO officials not to entertain Sai Reddy.“He is desperately trying to bail himself and Jagan out of the CBI cases by lobbying with the PMO,” Naidu told the party collleagues.
