A month ago when the makers of Superstar Rajnikanth’s “2 Point O” announced that they are coming mid-April, the producers of Allu Arjun’s Naa Peru Surya didn’t pay heed to it and confirmed that they will fight with the Robo sequel. But that would have been the worst decision ever in case if NPS competed with 2.0, without dropping from the race.
Other day the makers of 2 Point O stunned the audiences with the making featurette video they have released. As director Shankar explains the process of the film and showcased some visuals, one could anticipate how spectacular the film is going to be. The kind of visual effects as shown in the previsualization video is so stunning that the final output will take you to a fantasy world where you can’t do anything but getting entertained to the maximum.
And as Akshay Kumar reveals some shockers, and some of the feats he has done, 2 Point O is nothing short of a big Hollywood film, we have to say. As the visual effect supervisors from studios like Double Negative, London and Tau Films, Malaysia speak about the project, that sparkle in their eyes reveals how each scene is going to be. There is no point if normal commercial masala films try to compete with such a big fantasy bonanza.
Especially some scenes like a character landing in the stadium by getting dropped through the rigged camera wire, and the one where Chitti walks perpendicularly on a skyscraper, and that numerous robots forming into a sphere and other shapes (we’ve seen this in Robo also) is just amazing.
It’s better if all other films stay away from the race with 2.O and enjoy the spectacle on silver screen. The film is likely to release in August 2019.
