Amidst strong speculations that veteran filmmaker K. Raghavendra Rao will be given the post of TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam) Chairman, his latest meeting with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has gained much significance. The centenary-filmmaker called on Naidu at the latter’s official residence in Amaravathi, today.
The TTD Chairman post has been lying vacant for more than a year after Chadalavada Krishna Murthy completed his term early 2017.
Rao has been serving as one of the members of TTD Board since 2015, and there is strong buzz in political circles that he would be made the new Chairman of the board. He is being termed as the prime contender owing to his acquaintance with Naidu and his experience as a Board member.
It may be noted that there is significant opposition to Raghavendra Rao’s appointment to such important position and hence the state govt. is making its moves cautiously.
There is also another theory we hear about the motive behind Rao’s meeting with Naidu. It is heard that Chandrababu Naidu plans to constitute a creative team headed by Radhavendra Rao and assign them the task of preparing poll campaign material such as short films on TDP government’s schemes, achievements etc. This will be used during 2019 election campaign.
