In a startling revelation, Pawan Kalyan revealed that his Janasena Party will be contesting in all the 175 MLA seats in Andhra Pradesh for the 2019 general election.
“This is a first generation political party established by people who have come from small families. So to build the party and to identify the leaders, it takes time. Maybe Janasena is not having an experience as a party, but many people inside the party have years of political experience. Don’t think that we’re some inexperienced bunch” said Pawan Kalyan, confirming that Janasena is not a simple party but a structured organisation.
Articulating on the number of seats he will contest, the Janasena Party president said, “I’ve not revealed to anyone that I will be contesting only in few numbers of seats. We’ll be contesting in all the 175 seats. In the coming days, the strategies and plans will be decided, while 1200 members volunteers are working at root level already in all the constituencies”.
What about Telangana then? “We’ll announce that in coming 3 months as currently I’m busy building the cadre and focusing on building leadership there,” he said.
And then, Pawan made another stunning comment: “This party doesn’t belong to my family members or it will not be limited to only particular caste” he remarked, clarifying on rumours indirectly that neither Mega family nor Kapu caste will not play a crucial role in Janasena.
One wonders what is the plan of Pawan Kalyan in announcing that he will contest in all the 175 seats because many analysts feel that the party is yet to build cadre and identify leaders in more than 100 constituencies. Without any political support, with no allies and without any corporate backing, will it be easy for Janasena to register victories in all these seats? Rather the party might have chosen some 50 seats and focus more on the root level stuff, feel observers.
