CM’ Letter To Telugu Voters on Special Status

Understanding the importance of Telugu voters in the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections, CM Siddaramaiah has smartly raised the issue of Special Category Status to rub salt on the wounds left by the ruling BJP. Siddaramiah in his letter to Telugu people living in Karnataka has talked about how BJP cheated Telugu people by not fulfilling the promises it had made on the floor of the house. He even said how BJP is acting undemocratic by ignoring the promises it made in AP Reorganization Act and the crucial promise of the Special Category Status made by then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the floor of the house.

Thanking the Telugu people for imposing faith on him and electing him in 2013, Siddaramaiah said he has tried his best to fulfill their expectations by giving good governance, serving them. Seeking their support in the fast-approaching elections, Siddaramaiah even asked all the Telugu voters in Karnataka to vote against BJP and make them lose the polls.

Throughout his letter, Siddaramiah talked about the injustice done to both the Telugu states after bifurcation. He even recalled the long association between Telugu people and Kannada people and their friendly bond. On the whole, Siddaramaiah seems to have struck right chords of Telugu people by raising the issue of Special Category Status. Looks like, Modi’s whirlwind campaign may not yield much results to BJP.
