Rajamouli’s new record: 2 Months for 1 scene

Even before Baahubali completed its first leg of making, there is huge hype around the film. Considering that Rajamouli’s films are visual brilliance and grandeur, normally there are huge expectations and they have enhanced for this film with the ensemble cast-Prabhas, Anushka Shetty and Rana Daggubati, etc.

The latest news is that the star director is all set to ring a new record. The Magadheera director is planning to can a high-octane action sequence for over two months which is first of its kind in Indian Cinema.

Sources close to the project reveal that Rajamouli will start shooting a vital battle scene in December and it will last up to February. The scene features 2000 junior artistes along with lead actors. These side kicks have been well trained in various things like sword fighting and horse riding up to six months under the guidance of special trainers from Vietnam. Peter Heins is conceptualizing the whole battle episode besides Rajamouli’s supervision. A team of production designers are working on concept art and pre visualisation for designing of war machines, weapons and battle formations.

We hear that the sheer number of people to participate in the shoot of this particular sequence is mind-boggling. This is going to be lengthiest shoot period for a single sequence in the annals of Indian filmdom. Shobhu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni are pumping in Rs 100 crore on this magnum opus. The film is slated for 2015 release.
