JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy took oath as the 24th chief minister of Karnataka this evening. The new CM’s swearing-in ceremony was a grand affair as all the who’s who of the Indian political spectrum, except of course the BJP, descended on same dais.
In a rare moment, more Indian political leaders like Congress’ Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, SP’s Akhilesh Yadav, AP CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav, CPI(M)’s Sitaram Yechury, NCP’s Sharad Pawar raised hands at the Vidhana Soudha, where Kumaraswamy took oath.
Almost all the leaders who took part in the swearing-in ceremony are in an effort to unite against the Narendra Modi-led BJP government in the centre. Interestingly, most of these leaders have been political opponents since ages, but it looks like their detest for Modi has made them join hands and come under one roof for what seems to be a dramatic 2019.
