Director Asks to Watch the Piracy version of His Film

The latest Bollywood outing of Taapsee Pannu ‘Mulk’, directed by Anubhav Sinha, released on Friday and is garnering good response from the audiences. Jointly bankrolled by Banaras Media Works and Soham Rockstar Entertainment, the film also features senior actor Rishi Kapoor, Prateek Babbar and Ashutosh Rana in important roles.

Usually, our Bollywood films enjoy good craze in Pakistan and almost all the films get simultaneous release in our neighboring nation as well. But, Mulk was banned in Pakistan as their censor board felt the film showed Muslims in poor light. Director Anubhav, who’s enjoying the super success in India, wrote an open letter to the cinephiles who are missing Mulk in Pakistan and he had a very interesting piece of advice to them.

Anubhav, who started off his letter with words ‘Dear Citizens of Pakistan’, recommended the Pakistani audiences to download the piracy version of the film and watch it. In his one-page letter, Anubhav said ‘I really wanted you all to see this film legally but do watch it illegally if you must, though our digital team at home is working hard to stop all piracy.’ Don’t you think this is really an uncommon piece of recommendation from any filmmaker.
