At the ‘Dharma Porata Deeksha’ Congress leader Jairam Ramesh had faced an awkward situation. He had been to the protest venue and expressed his solidarity to Chandrababu Naidu’s agitation.
To remind all those, back in 2014, Jairam was the architect of ‘AP Re-Organisation Bill.’ He was the one who proposed that the Polavaram project should be given National Status and mentioned few other issues pertaining to Andhra Pradesh.
In his speech, Naidu recalled Jairam Ramesh’s special interest on AP. “After 2014 whenever I used to visit Delhi and meet central ministers, even though Jairam is in Congress, he used to accompany me to demand for the implementation of ‘Bifurcation Act.’ Today he is little bit disturbed with his wife’s death recently, he came to support ‘special status’ cause for Andhra Pradesh. That is the commitment he had despite being the main man behind AP Bifurcation Bill,” said Naidu.
Adding, on the other hand, Narendra Modi is attacking us when we ask our rightful demands. There is a difference between Jairam and Modi. A day will come when Modi will face the wrath of the people.
