With less than a week to go for Assembly and General Elections in Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress Party president Y.S Jaganmohan Reddy today released the party manifesto on the auspicious occasion of Ugadi, as the astrologer predicted this year to be “Jagan’s year.”
Focussing on the “Navaratnalu,” the YSRCP manifesto reflects most weightage on welfare schemes which are pro-poor, said Jagan, who added that the manifesto was drawn up based on his Padayatra. However, a full manifesto has not been released by the YSRCP, as it is awaiting the Telugu Desam Party’s manifesto to be out.
Important points from YSRCP manifesto:
Navaratnalu – Support to women from SC, ST, BC and minority communities over 45 years of age. All loans pertaining to women’s co-operative societies are also promised to be waived under the YSR Asara.
Financial assistance of Rs.12,500 per year to farmers under the YSR Rythu Bharosa scheme. In addition to that, zero interest loans, free bore-wells and a calamity relief fund of Rs 9,000 crore for farmers. A guarantee 9-hour free power supply.
Pension age will be brought down from 65 to 60 and pension of Rs. 2000 for elderly and for the disabled, it will be Rs. 3000.
YSRCP promised to build 20 lakh houses for the poor in next 5 years. Under the Pedhalandariki Illu scheme, the houses will be registered in the name of the woman member. An additional loan on the house at 25 paise interest from banks will be given to beneficiaries.
Free medical treatment under Arogyasri if the cost of treatment is above Rs. 1000. Additionally, insurance of Rs. 1 lakh even in cases of natural death. If a member of the Muslim community passes away, the party will provide the family financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh. The Arogyasri healthcare scheme includes all families with income below Rs. 5 lakh rupees.
Ban on alcohol in Andhra Pradesh in three phases and limit its availability only to star hotels.
Under Jalayagnam, irrigation projects will be completed. The completion of Polavaram on a war footing is on the agenda.
Total fee reimbursement for poor students. In addition to that, the YSRCP assures an allowance of Rs 20,000 to each student and Rs. 1 lakh to 1.5 lakh will be allotted to each student. Free food, hostel facility also will be provided.
Rs. 15,000 assistance to all mothers who send their children to school, under Amma Vodi.
State police to get weekly offs.
