TDP Leaders Did Not Like Chandrababu’s Idea?

The Telugu Desam Party supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu has recently asked all his legislators and party cadre to begin a new trend by thanking voters for turning up in large numbers and voting for the party. Despite glitches with EVMs, mass malfunctioning reported across the state, he appreciated voters for being so patience and standing in queues to cast their vote.

Taking this example, the TDP chief directed his MLAs and MPs to visit their constituencies and thank voters. This, according to Chandrababu, will create an attitude of gratitude for leaders while voters will feel empowered. While voting trend has been pretty evident this time, voters have been tight-lipped about who they chose. There is information that the high voter-turnout points to a pro-incumbency vote for the government.

On the other hand, YSR Congress has been declaring itself as the winner and also attempted the gimmick of getting CM nameplate for its president Y.S Jaganmohan Reddy. However, Telugu Desam Party MLAs and MPs are a confused lot. On one side, they are instructed to thank voters, but on the other, they do not know whether these voters have voted for their party of YSRCP or Jana Sena.

With still month to go for election results, TDP leaders are wondering whether this is a good idea. Some of them say that if they thank voters now and if YSR Congress wins, they would look like fools in front of people for assuming a wave. On the other hand, many of them are secretly whispering that the TDP chiefs idea is a bad one and may backfire if YSRCP wins.
