Looks like Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments rivalry sometimes gets the both of both even if they seem to be competing. While Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had promised to help Odisha through RTGS updates and with electricity personnel as soon as Cyclone Fani made a windfall in the state, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao too seems to have felt the need to help out his neighbour.
Surprisingly after Chandrababu’s tweet on May 7th morning, Telangana government also issued a press release about its help to Odisha. He tweeted, ”Fulfilling the role of a good neighbour, AP is providing all possible help to bring back normalcy in Odisha. A team of 2,055 workers, shift operators and staff from Energy Dept is deputed for rectification work so that services can be restored at a faster pace. #CycloneFani.”
While Andhra Pradesh had sent 2,000 workers for restoration work in Odisha along with machines and food supplies, Telangana government on Tuesday night sent 1,000 personnel from Electricity Department to Odisha to restore power supply in the cyclone-hit areas. Ever since, the Government of Odisha has been thanking its neighbours for being so quick in responding and helping its people out, in times of crisis.
Even the Central Government’s help to Odisha and West Bengal has ensured quick restoration and relief efforts in the Cyclone-hit areas of these states. Despite all the differences between the Telugu states, netizens say it is a good move by both the states to reach out to its neighbour in difficult times.
