Former chief executive officer of TV9 television channel V Ravi Prakash is now finding it difficult to escape from the clutches of law on the charges of forgery and criminal conspiracy.
After the Telangana high court striking down his anticipatory bail petition on Wednesday night, Ravi Prakash was supposed to appear before the Cybercrime police station of Cyberabad on Thursday, following a notice served on him by the police under Section 41A of Criminal Procedure Code in crime no 84/19 May 21.
But, the sacked CEO was trying to take shelter under the pretext that his petition was pending with National Company Law Tribunal for disposal. On Friday, even that option also got exhausted.
The NCLT bench struck down the petition filed by SAIF III Mauritius Company Limited against Associated Broadcasting Company Private Limited (ABCL), the promoter of TV9, questioning the sale of majority stakes to Alanda Media.
Since SAIF has finally agreed to the deal between ABCL and Alanda Media, its petition has become infructuous. The NCLT gave clearance to the deal between the two companies.
It also struck down the petition filed by actor Shivaji questioning the deal and change of management without intimating the shareholders.
As a result, there is nothing for Ravi Prakash to question the change of management in TV9. Now, he has no option but to surrender before the police and cooperate in their investigation!
