Turmeric Farmers Get Arvind To Sign Bond Paper

After a huge shock to Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and K. Kavitha following her in Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency where BJP candidate Dharmapuri Arvind beat Kavitha of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) by over 66,000 votes, the turmeric farmers came up with an interesting thought to make Arvind responsible for them.

Arvind, who is the son is the son of rebel TRS leader and Rajya Sabha member D. Srinivas, signed a bond paper where it is mentioned that as the MP of the constituency, he will take care of the turmeric farmers and their needs while also addressing their problems. ‘In such a case where I do not fulfil my responsibilities, I shall resign as the MP of Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency,’ the paper added.

Nizamabad constituency had attracted attention from across India for having the highest number of candidates. A total of 185 candidates were in the fray including 178 turmeric farmers, who filed nominations to highlight their demands for remunerative prices for their produce. The Election Commission had used a record number of Electronic Voting Machines to conduct the election in Nizamabad.
