YSRCP leader YV Subba Reddy’s name is finalised as new Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams (TTD) chairman. Later this month he will take charge but before that his religion has triggered a controversy. Many claim that Subba Reddy is a Christian and they are questioning how can the government appoint a Christian as chairman of Hindu God shrine.
Issuing a clarification on this Subba Reddy replied that questioning my religion is most horrible thing. “I was born as a Hindu and people who question my religion are most welcome to my residence in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. Nearly 30 times, I wore Aiyyappa mala and went to Sabarimala. Also for every occasion in my home, I will do Gomatha pooja. I wonder from where all these reports come from,” said Subba Reddy.
About his plans for TTD, YV said, millions of people come from every corner of the country for darshan. For those people, the darshan will be made simpler and faster at the same time, the VIP entry will be restricted. However Subba Reddy said he will deal with the controversies within TTD in a sensitive manner and will utmost importance to transparency.
