All these days, firebrand YSR Congress party MLA from Nagari was called an iron leg by the Telugu Desam Party sources. But she proved to be a lucky mascot for her party which came to power with a thumping majority under the leadership of Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
But now, her iron leg tag seems to have got attached to TDP general secretary and former minister Nara Lokesh, son of party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Despite all the encouragement given by his father, Lokesh turned out to be an unlucky character for the TDP.
The fear that Naidu might hand over the state reins to him if the TDP comes to power was one of the factors for the people rejecting Naidu for a second term.
Now, his chamber in the Secretariat has also become a haunted one for the new ministers. Nobody is willing to occupy the chamber, as it proved to be unlucky for Lokesh.
On Wednesday, the officials allotted Lokesh’s chamber in Block No. 5 in the Secretariat to newly-appointed minister for panchayat raj Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy.
Though the chamber is spacious and had all the additional facilities (since it was occupied by the chief minister’s son till recently), Reddy refused to occupy the chamber.
He asked the general administration department to allocate another chamber to him. Apparently, Reddy was warned that the chamber has negative vibrations and it proved unlucky for Lokesh, who lost the election in Mangalagiri.
Later, Ramchandra Reddy was allocated Room no.203 in Block No. 3. He will take charge as minister on Thursday morning.
