Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh will become empty by the time its president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu returns from his foreign tour.
This was the prediction made by Bharatiya Janata Party vice-president of its AP unit S Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, while reacting to the defection of four Rajya Sabha members from TDP to BJP.
“You are going to witness a rapid change in the political scenario in AP very shortly. Many former ministers, ex-MLAs and all senior leaders of the TDP would be joining the BJP. There would also be defections from Jana Sena and Congress into the BJP,” he said.
He also referred to the meeting of Kapu leaders from TDP at Kakinada on Thursday.
“You are going to see more such meetings in the coming days and the TDP leaders would make a beeline to the BJP soon, as they all want to get out of the shackles of family rule and bondage” Reddy said.
BJP national spokesman and Rajya Sabha member G V L Narasimha Rao also indicated that several leaders from AP and Telangana would join the BJP shortly, but he refused to divulge their names.
“The only reason for their defection to the BJP is their faith in BJP leadership and Narendra Modi’s governance,” he said.
