The 10th death anniversary of former chief minister late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy was observed across the Telugu states on Monday.
Needless to say, it was a big occasion for YSR Congress party leaders and cadre, as the party came to power in the state with a slogan of bringing Rajanna Rajyam (golden era of Rajasekhar Reddy). They garlanded the statues of YSR across the state.
The Congress party leaders, too, paid homage to YSR in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, as they still own up YSR as their leader.
In Vijayawada, the YSRC leaders successfully restored the statue of YSR in front of the police control room in the presence of party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The statue which was erected during the Congress regime was removed by the Telugu Desam Party government headed by N Chandrababu Naidu in 2016 during Krishna Pushkarams.
For the TDP leaders, YSR’s death anniversary was never an occasion to pay homage. In fact, Naidu still takes pot shots at YSR whenever there is an opportunity.
But surprisingly, on Monday, TDP MP from Srikakulam Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu showered praises on YSR on the latter’s 10th death anniversary, describing him as a “mass leader” who influenced millions of people.
Rammohan Naidu tweeted: “On the occasion of YS Rajasekhara Reddy Garu’s death anniversary, let’s remember a mass leader who undoubtedly influenced millions of people in Andhra and South India with his policies & methods of governance. He was a Congress icon who left behind a complex legacy.”
What is more interesting is that the TDP MP tagged Jagan (@ysjagan) to his tweet, so as to ensure that his message would be noticed by the YSRC president.
One wonders what message Rammohan Naidu sought to convey by praising YSR and tagging Jagan to his tweet.
Interestingly, the TDP MP also conveyed his greetings to power star and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan on the latter’s birthday.
Not stopping at that, he lavished praises on Pawan Kalyan as well, stating that: “In leaving behind ur great career in movies and entering politics, you have inspired many youth about the nobility of public service. I wish you all the best in your future endeavours with @JanaSenaParty.”
