For the last few days, there have been voices of disgruntlement in the Telangana Rashtra Samithi from different corners of the party.
At one place or the other, the party leaders have been expressing their views rather openly, only to be silenced later. But the trend clearly shows there is definitely some discontent in the party.
The other day, health minister Etela Rajender created flutters in the political circles by openly declaring that he had not become a minister out of somebody’s Bhiksha, but was also the owner of pink flag. The issue seems to have subsided with Etela declaring that KCR was his boss.
Within a couple of days, TRS MP and former minister Capt Lakshmikanth Rao also declared that there was nothing wrong in what Etela Rajender said. He also declared that the pink flag belongs to all those who had fought for Telangana.
Another TRS MLA from Asifabad Koneru Konappa, who has been staying away from party activities for some time, also triggered sensation by abstaining from zilla parishad meeting of Komaram Bheem district, along with seven ZPTCs and seven MPP chairpersons supporting him.
Konappa has been unhappy with the TRS leadership for not coming to his rescue, when his brother Koneru Krishna had been jailed for allegedly assaulting a forest official.
Senior TRS leader and former minister Kadiyam Srihari is also said to have decided to come out openly over the going on in the party. He is leading a rally to Kaleshwaram project on September 4 to express his views.
A party leader said the voices of dissent are surfacing now, only after KCR’s son K T Rama Rao took over the working president of the party.
“There has been no resentment against KCR, who has stopped interfering in the party activities. But it is KTR who has been encouraging groups in the party, leading to disgruntlement,” he said.
