Modi’s arrival at ISRO was a gimmick

We all have been reading about how close ISRO was in launching the Chandrayaan-2. PM Modi consoling ISRO Chairman Sivan went on to become a viral sensation on the internet. While many people commended Narendra Modi’s gesture, some people think that the arrival of Modi at ISRO has made it a bad day for scientists.

HD Kumaraswamy, leader of JD(S) party and ex-Chief Minister of Karnataka, on Thursday took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi by calling his recent visit to Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) headquarters a political gimmick.

‘PM Modi arrived in Bengaluru to give an impression that he himself was sending the Chandrayaan-2, for which many scientists worked hard for around 10+ years,’ attacked Kumaraswamy by adding that ‘the funds for Chandrayaan-2 was released in 2008-2009, during UPA government. But, Narendra Modi came now with a view to claim responsibility and it’s just for the sake of advertisement.”

Speaking to the press, the former Karnataka CM said, “Once Modi stepped into ISRO centre, it turned out to be a bad day for scientists.” He went on to accuse that Modi didn’t even meet his Karnataka state CM and cabinet ministers, but went to ISRO alone.
