Talk Of AP: AP Governor’s Humble Act

Setting a new precedent, Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan has boarded a normal domestic plane instead of special plane which he could avail for his travel.

Biswabhusan who was on his way to Tirupati to take part in Brahmotsavam celebrations of Lord Balaji at Tirumala, had directed officials to make necessary arrangements. However, he had told officials that he would go by regular plane in order to cut down the burden on the public exchequer. This is not all.

Even after coming to know that there were no direct planes available from Vijayawada to Tirupati, officials had advised him to go by special plane instead. Yet Governor Biswabhusan had gently turned down their request stating that unnecessary expenditure of public money isn’t good as the special plane needs to be hired specially.

He instead asked officials to book a ticket to regular flight which goes via Hyderabad to Tirupati. The officials was shocked when 85-year-old Governor had decided to go to Tirupati from Vijayawada via Hyderabad.

Interestingly, even on Tirumala Governor Bishwabusan hadn’t spend longtime. He had spent only 1 hour in Tirumala as it would cause inconvenience to common people and devotees. If Governor stays in a TTD Guesthouse or in temple premises, entire officials would be busy with duties of Governor.

Governor had felt this could affect the works of officials and other arrangements. Hence, he has decided to leave Tirumala early to make ease for devotees who are thronging to see Lord Balaji. After Darshan, Governor had returned to Vijayawada. This humble act of state’s first citizen is drawing applause from various corners.
