Magnum Opus Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy has opened to superb reviews and word of mouth. It has received unanimous positive response from critics and general audience alike.
Trade expected the film to set the box office on fire across Indian markets and in overseas too. But Sye Raa hasn’t clicked in Non-Telugu markets and its performance has been below par in North America so far.
Sye Raa was expected to gross at least a Million in North America as it had the advantage of Tuesday premieres. But it fell short of Saaho’s premiere gross and has been posting moderate numbers since then.
Sye Raa crossed $1.5 Million mark on Friday and is eyeing at $2 M+ weekend. This is not a great show given the scale and response. Trade predicted the film to easily cross the $3.5 Million mark, but it looks extremely unlikely at this point.
This is not a great sign for the upcoming biggies as the overseas market is definitely not as strong as before. Releasing two big films in the same weekend for Sankranthi would prove dangerous for both the films in overseas market.
Sarileru Neekevvaru and Ala Vaikunthapuramulo overseas business is closed and the buyers must be worrying after looking at lukewarm response for Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.
