Former chief executive officer of TV9 channel V Ravi Prakash appears to be caught in neck deep troubles and is unlikely to wriggle out of them in the near future.
Ravi Prakash, who has been arrested by the Hyderabad police in a case pertaining to siphoning off Rs 18 crore from the Associated Broadcasting Company Limited which runs the channel, will be in great trouble if the Supreme Court orders any CBI and ED inquiry into the allegations levelled by YSR Congress party leader V Vijay Sai Redddyt on parking of ill-gotten money in foreign countries without informing the statutory authorities.
However, sources said Ravi Prakash would not have got into troubles had he heeded to the advice of his well-wishers that he should approach the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership in the Centre.
Many BJP leaders who have clout in Delhi reportedly offered to take him to BJP national president Amit Shah or if possible, Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In fact, Ravi Prakash had an occasion to meet Amit Shah during the launch of TV9 Bharatvarsh channel in the past, but he did not continue the relations.
“Somehow, he does not gel with the BJP. Even when his close friends like Sujana Chowdary and C M Ramesh joined the BJP following the advice of their ex-boss N Chandrababu Naidu, Ravi Prakash did not show interest in approaching the BJP, because of his overconfidence,” sources said.
Even Andhra Jyothy managing director V Radhakrishna, who was the hardcore critic of the BJP during the TDP regime, also surrendered to the BJP leadership and met Shah a couple of days ago.
“Had Ravi Prakash followed the advice of his well-wishers, he would not have faced the present situation,” sources said.
