AP Farmers To Get Rs 1,000 More!

As YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is getting ready to launch his flagship scheme “YSR Rythu Bharosa” at Nellore on Tuesday, there is another good news for farmers.

The Jagan government on Monday announced an increase of Rs 1,000 in cash investment support under Rythu Bharosa – from Rs 12,500 to Rs 13,500 annually.

At the same time, it will be implemented for next five years, instead of four years as promised in the manifesto.

However, the amount will not be paid in lump sum to the farmers, but in three instalments which will have a greater utility.

The first instalment of Rs 7,500 will be deposited in their accounts in May, second instalment of Rs 4,000 in October and third instalment of Rs 2,000 in January.

The farmer welfare scheme will benefit over 51 lakh families besides three lakh landless tenant farmers belonging to SC, ST, BCs and Minorities. All of them will get the benefit of Rs 13,500 each.

The scheme will be named as YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan scheme, as Rs 6,000 of the total amount is being borne by the Centre under PM Kisan scheme.

The top three-tiers of elected representatives are not eligible for the scheme.

All MLAs and MPs present and past are not eligible to avail the scheme while it does not apply to zilla and mandal parishads and village sarpanches.

People who are using land for aqua culture and real estate also will not be covered under the scheme.
