Senior hero Akkineni Nagarjuna is once again in a confused mode as he can’t choose to pick between commercial cinema with masala ingredients or serious thought-provoking cinema that could work at the box office. But then, he’s said to be weighing his options.
Recently Nagarjuna starred in the remake of the French film “Prete-moi ta main” which was made as ‘Manmadhudu 2’ but failed to click at the box office. Since then, Nag is not okaying any other film though he has Bangarraju and other stories ready. However, he’s looking forward to team up with a newcomer for a fresh film.
But then, producer Sunil Narang of Asian Cinemas is said to have approached him with the remake of Ajay Devgan’s “Raid” movie, which is based on real-life Income Tax raids conducted by strict IRS officers who go against all the political bigwigs to conduct raids and legally recover what belongs to the government.
If Nagarjuna agrees to do this remake, then this will be next level entry because the likes of Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgan proved themselves bigger by shunning out routine masala movies and starring in these patriotic dramas to cement their stardom as well as command over nex-gen box office.
