Hyd: 6 killed after SUV falling into Nagarjuna Sagar

Yesterday night, on October 18, a horrific incident took place where six people from Hyderabad were killed after their SUV lost control and fell into the Nagarjuna Sagar (left canal) in the Suryapet district.

The deceased were identified as Abdul (45), Rajesh (29), Johnson (33), Santosh Kumar (23), Naresh, (35) and Pavan Kumar (23). All six of them were colleagues and residents of Secunderabad. It is confirmed that they used to work at a private hospital in the city.

It is reported that all six of them have gone to attend a friend’s wedding and the accident took place while returning to the city. The cops confirmed that the driver lost control due to over speeding, resulting in the car tripping into the canal.

The Nadigudem police said that presently there is heavy current in the canal which is intervening them to carry out rescue operations. Also, soon after knowing about the mishap, D. Amoy Kumar, district collector, reached the spot to monitor rescue operations.
