In a huge disappointment to Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), the party is trailing and is in the verge of defeat in the two assembly segments. The by-election for Nanguneri and Vikravandi assembly constituencies were held on October 21st and as per the latest trends, the ruling party, AIADMK is leading.
This is a big setback for DMK chief Stalin who was expecting positive results. In the Lok Sabha polls, Stalin’s party won 23 seats and also won couple of seats in the by-elections. However, DMK did not carry the momentum in the latest by-elections.
Stalin wanted to make DMK a leading force by 2021 assembly elections but these results came in like speed breakers.
After 8th round of counting in Nanguneri, AIADMK’s Narayanan is leading with a majority of 14,000 votes while at Vikravandi, 13 rounds of counting got completed and AIADMK is leading with over 29,000 votes.
