There is an indication towards end of Khaidi that the film could have a sequel. Even when media had asked director Lokesh Kanagaraj about the sequel plans, he had said it would depend on Khaidi’s box office performance. Now that Khaidi got unanimous positive reviews and good word of mouth in both languages, director Lokesh Kanagaraj announced the sequel to Khaidi.
Lokesh, who directed Nagaram (Maanagaram in Tamil) and Khaidi (Kaithi in Tamil), is going to direct Vijay in his next Thalapathy 64. It is learnt that after Thalapathy 64, Lokesh would comeback to direct Karthi for Khaidi 2.
Despite not having a heroine and not having songs, Karthi’s Khaidi has been made in a gripping way. It is intense and it is edge-of-seat thriller laced with emotions. The father-daughter sentiment is nicely captured and the entire film is in dark given that the whole story unraveled in four hours of a night. Lokesh’s brilliant work and Karthi’s acting prowess has made Khaidi a good film. Naturally, the news about its sequel is making Karthi’s fans celebrate.
