Centre Serious on Telangana Police!

A scuffle broke out between Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay and Telangana police during the peaceful march mourning the death of RTC employee Babu who committed suicide owing to ongoing RTC strike and state government not meeting the demands of protesting employees. This led to some disturbing incidents where police allegedly ‘manhandled’ BJP MP Sanjay in order to ‘control’ the situation. This has invited wrath from BJP leaders who condemned the ‘highhanded’ behavior of the police.

Sanjay took to Twitter and came down heavily on Telangana state police and CM KCR. Posting a glimpse of the video in which he was visibly ‘manhandled’ and his shirt was held by a police official in a disrespectful way, Bandi Sanjay wrote, “Democracy in our state is getting dwindle daybyday &replicating the another WestBengal. The way state govt behaving on TSRTC Strike is simulating tyrannical behavior of CMKCR.The way TSPolice behaved while we’re taking the march in the last rites of RTCEmployee Babu was abominable.”

Taking the issue seriously, the Union Home Ministry has sought a detailed report from Telangana DGP. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy has sought a report from Telangana state DGP Mahender Reddy. “Was apprised of the unfortunate incident of manhandling of Sri @bandisanjay_bjp, Hon MP – Karimnagar, upon landing. Called him right after for 1st hand information. Spoke to @TelanganaDGP & asked for a detailed report into this incident to be submitted to the GoI at the earliest,” wrote Minister Kishan Reddy.

BJP leaders of Telangana are demanding a strict action from Telangana DGP on concerned police officials of dealing disrespectfully with Karimnagar MP. Meanwhile, it is reported that Bandi Sanjay would move Privilega Motion against the concerned police officials.
