A couple of days ago, Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu made a surprising appearance in the ashram of Chinna Jeeyar Swamy at Muchintal near Shamshabad on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
It was surprising because there were hardly any instances in the past of Naidu visiting Chinna Jeeyar ashram and paying respects to the seer.
During his tenure as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh between 2014 and 2019, Naidu never had a darshan of Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, though the latter’s ashram at Seethanagaram was right on the banks of Krishna river closer to Naidu’s Vundavalli residence.
Though he has a strong faith in religious rituals, the TDP chief did not even invite Chinna Jeeyar swamy to the foundation laying ceremony of Amaravati, the capital city, which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
However, all of a sudden, Naidu got an invitation from Chinna Jeeyar ashram to attend the seer’s Thiru Nakshtram (birthday) celebrations at Shamshabad.
It is learnt senior TDP leader and MLC Buddha Venkanna, a staunch devotee of Jeeyar swamy, played a key role in bringing Naidu to the ashram.
He is learnt to have told Naidu that Chinna Jeeyar Swamy was the most powerful seer and because of his blessings, Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao could come back to power for a second term and YSRC chief Jagan Mohan Reddy too got the seer’s blessings to become the chief minister.
Apparently, Naidu was convinced about Chinna Jeeyar Swamy’s spiritual powers. So, when he got the invite from the ashram thanks to Buddha Venkanna’s lobbying, Naidu went to the ashram and sought the blessings of the Swamy.
Chinna Jeeyar was too happy to receive Chandrababu Naidu and wished him all the best by offering theertham and prasadam.
He also presented a book to the TDP chief that would empower him to have strong determination.
Needless to say, Naidu was all praise for Chinna Jeeyar’s social service and the service to the god.
He also lavished praises on industrialist and My Home Group chairman Jupally Rameshwar Rao with whom he had spent some time personally.
In all, Naidu spent more than two and a half hours in Chinna Jeeyar Swamy ashram and had a patient hearing to Swamy’s spiritual lessons.
May be, Naidu thought Chinna Jeeyar’s blessings would help him regain his lost glory!
