Generally heroes from the same family don’t like to have a clash at the box office. A few years back Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Dictator’ and Young Tiger Jr NTR’s ‘Nannaku Prematho’ released during the Sankranthi season. Last year Mega hero Varun Tej and Sai Dharam Tej were in similar situation.
‘Inttelligent’ and ‘Tholi Prema’ released with a day gap. However these sort of things happen once in a while when there are no options for the makers of respective films. Now this is going to repeat but not in Tollywood, in Kollywood.
And it is going to be none other than Superstar Rajinikanth and his son-in-law Dhanush. We all know Rajini’s ‘Darbar’ is gearing up for Pongal release on January 9th. Now the producer of Dhanush’s upcoming movie ‘Pattas’ has confirmed the release date on January 16th which means there is just a week gap between the two films.
This is quite surprising as Dhanush has immense respect for his father-in-law Rajini and many thought Dhanush’s film will release with at least two weeks gap. Now that the producer has acknowledged the release, it is going to be a clash even though there are seven days gap.
For sure Rajini and ‘Darbar’ will have the upper hand as it is the first combination of Superstar with director AR Murugadoss. Also after very long time Rajini has donned the khakee uniform. The trailer got a fantastic response with typical Rajini’s mannerism.
Dhanush’s ‘Pattas’ is being directed by Durai Senthilkumar and Telugu actor Naveen Chandra is essaying the negative role.
