UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson tested positive for coronavirus today and it was reported that he experienced mild symptoms. He is self-isolate in Downing Street, however, he would be taking charge of the government in full pace amid the global health crisis.
On Friday, Boris posted a video on his Twitter handle saying he has a temperature and a persistent cough. “I am working from home, I’m self-isolating, and that’s entirely the right thing to do,” he said. “But be in no doubt that I can continue… to communicate with all my top team and lead the national fightback against coronavirus.”
Since mild symptoms appeared, England’s Chief Medical Officer, Professor Chris Whitty suggested Boris on taking a test. The test was carried out in No 10 by NHS staff and the result of the test was positive.
The Prime Minister also tweeted “Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus. I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus. Together we will beat this.”
