Star Wars actor Andrew Jack has died from coronavirus

The 76-year-old Hollywood actor Andrew Jack, popularly known for his role Major Ematt in Star Wars, died of the novel coronavirus complications today. He was at the hospital in England, taking treatment at the time of his death and the news was shared by the actor’s wife Gabrielle Rogers on social media.

“Andrew Jack was diagnosed with coronavirus 2 days ago. He was in no pain, and he slipped away peacefully knowing that his family were all ‘with’ him,” Rogers wrote.

Andrew Jack, who starred as Major Ematt in ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi’ and ‘Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens’, left the whole Hollywood film industry in shock and dismay. He was also a dialect coach who lent his voice in ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’, the ‘Star Wars’ spin-off prequel.

Popular movies like ‘Men in Black: International’, ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy, ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ and Avengers movies had Jack as a dialect coach. In his upcoming films, Jack was scheduled to work with Twilight hero Robert Pattinson on “The Batman”, to be directed by Matt Reeves.
