Actor Rajiv Kanakala is bereaved. His sister Sri Lakshmi Kanakala passed away today at her residence. Sri Lakshmi was unwell for a while. She was suffering from cancer and her situation was said to be worsened in the past few days. She had finally breathed her last today. She is survived by husband and two daughters.
Hailing from the family of actors, acting was in Sri Lakshmi’s blood. She took up acting as profession. She made her acting debut through TV serial Rajasekhara Charitramu in Doordarshan. She acted in serials like Chinnari, Agnipoolu, Kotha Bangaram, Kaliyuga Ramayanam, Arundhati, Akasaganga, Swathi in Gemini TV and Priyanka, Ruthudhara TV serials in E TV. She had also acted in a Kannada telefilm and Hindi movie.
Sri Lakshmi had married a journalist and writer Peddi Ramarao who worked for several plays and TV serials. He penned dialogues for the mega daily TV serial Ruthuragalu in Doordarshan. Sri Lakshmi and Ramarao got married on March 31st in 2002. The couple is blessed with two daughters.
The family has appealed to not to come to her final rites due to the ongoing lock down and the wide spread of Corona Virus pandemic. The family informed that the arrangements are being made for Sri Lakshmi’s last rites.
