AP Budget 2020: People are happy with welfare schemes

The budget session of Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council starts from Today, June 16. Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan addressing the assembly session of both the Houses from Raj Bhavan through video conference from 10 AM.

In his speech, the honourable governor asserted that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government had implemented several welfare schemes during the past year.

People are happy with the government’s many welfare schemes implemented in the last year.

“We are happy to have achieved a growth rate of 8.16% in FY 2019-20. The growth in agriculture and allied sectors is expected to be 8 per cent. The industrial sector recorded a growth rate of 5 per cent.”

Addressing the governor from Raj Bhavan, he said that 40% of the schemes that are not promised in the election are being implemented successfully. Over 3.98 crore people have benefited under various schemes this year. The per capita income is up 12 per cent compared to last year.

“Of the 129 guarantees, 77 guarantees were fulfilled, 39 guarantees are under consideration while 40 guarantees that were not in the manifesto were also fulfilled,” governor said.

We have benefited 3.98 crore people under various schemes such as Amma Vodi Scheme for the welfare of children’s education and mothers, modernisation of 48,000 schools in three years.

He said that Under the health scheme, 6.25 lakh people have benefitted with Rs 1534 crore for this and Rs. 1105 crores for Jagannanna Gorumundu Scheme for Nutrition for Students.

The governor said that Rs.3857 crores have been spent under the Jagannanna Vasati Devena scheme to provide accommodation to Students.

The governor asserted that the government has brought revolutionary schemes such as zero-interest loan scheme for Dwakara women and implementing Rythu Bharosa scheme, YSR Vahana Mitra, YSR Matsyakara Bharosa scheme etc.

The Governor also lauded the government over the measures taken in the containment of Coronavirus. About 15 thousand tests are being performed per day and provided financial assistance to migrants and the poor in the lockdown period.

“We have also taken measures to benefit tenant farmers under Rythu Bharosa scheme and set up the Rythu Bharosa centres along with 147 YSR agricultural laboratories at a constituency level to increase agricultural production; we have also set up 13 labs at district level,” Governor said.

The government is contemplating to offer house patta sites to over 30 lakh people with Rs 7,000 crore. We will register these sites under the title name of women.

“We will provide 25 lakh houses in four years and the works on 15 lakh homes will begin in August. We are providing welfare schemes irrespective of caste, religion and parties” governor said.
