With Covid-19’s rampant spread into the country, the entertainment industry has been undergoing rapid changes resulting in shut down of theatrical releases. Now by and large, the film makers are showing interest to OTT platform to salvage this messiest situation. However, big banner films have been still waiting to release through theatres. In the recent times, many actors have signed for web series and seen digital platforms to be promising.
Now reportedly Hansika who had been off the radar has stepped back into the film industry. Her last film was Tenali BA BL, which was released in 2018. After a long hiatus, in October 2019 she bagged an offer to do a web series, which was planned to release in OTT platform, mostly via Amazon prime.
It is reported that Hansika will be starring in a web series under the direction of ‘Bhagmati’ fame Ashok. This web series focuses on the ghastly issues that women have been facing in this society.
The shoot has been done earlier in this year for a month in Mumbai. However, the shoot has been ground to halt later during lockdown and now the grapevine is abuzz that the crew are soon to recommence the schedule.
Ashok opined that he couldn’t think of any heroine who can be sensible yet stylish like Hansika. The actress who seem to have liked the story, immediately gave a nod for this web series. He said that women’s issues will be depicted by keeping the commercial elements in mind, which is apt for today’s youth. Well, the actress role is kept under wraps but we could expect her in a powerful yet glamorous role.
