Shooting in the Kerala forests was Sukumar’s first choice for his film, Pushpa, featuring Allu Arjun as the lead hero.
He even made his art director erect some sets there but the announcement of lockdown made him scrap the plans altogether. Later, it was decided to shoot in East Godavari and then in Chittoor.
At one time, Sukumar even toyed with the idea of booking a resort in Hyderabad and erecting the sets. But the growing number of coronavirus cases had made him cancel it.
But now, he seems to have found a good location in Vikarabad.
Currently, director Krish is filming his new film in the Vikarabad forest area with Vaishnav Tej and Rakul Preet Singh.
Sukumar is also planning to head the same location since the monsoons have brought lush greenery to the forest.
Vikarabad is just 60 kilometers off from Hyderabad and is very convenient for shooting.
But Allu Arjun wants to wait for another month to assess the corona situation before resuming the shoot. The film is also aiming for the summer 2021 release.
Allu Arjun plays a lorry driver in this film that is set in the backdrop of Seshachalam forests.
“Pushpa” is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and has Rashmika Mandanna as the heroine. Devi Sri Prasad is scoring the music.
