Anurag Kashyap appeared to the summons by the Mumbai police for addressing after Payal Ghosh recorded a FIR against the movie producer charging offenses of wrongful restraint, unfair confinement, and outraging the modesty of women.
However, Anurag denied all the charges as he was grilled for almost eight hours at the Versova Police station.
The movie producer’s attorney Priyanka Khimani later stated with respect to the charges, “Mr. Kashyap has denied all bad behavior in the issue and has given his statement to the police. The proof gave by Mr. Kashyap, on the side of his announcement, exhibits that the protest of Ms. Ghosh is plainly a lie. Mr. Kashyap’s documented evidence proves that he was away throughout August, 2013 he was away in Sri Lanka regarding the shooting of one of his movies.”
The statement by the lawyer claims Payal’s falsity exposed, which emphasised that sudden belated accusations about an incident of an alleged sexual assault in August 2013 has been extensively propagated by the complainant for vilifying Anurag.
Reportedly the director-producer also forewarned that Payal would alter her versions of events when interrogated. Reportedly as per the statement, Anurag Kashyap sought for severe action against Payal Ghosh for ‘misusing the criminal justice system. Out of the distress due to false allegations that disheartened him, his family and his fans, the director urges to pursue the legal remedies in this case.
