Director Gunaskehar is known to pick interesting and unique subjects whenever he makes a film. All of his films also have a very classic touch, with his own style of making written all over them.
Gunasekhar’s last film was Rudramadevi in 2015, and ever since then, the director has been trying to bring more and more historic stories to life. There were many speculations over what the director’s next film could be, and it looks like Gunasekhar has settled on making a movie based on Mahabharata!
According to the latest reports, Gunasekhar’s upcoming film will be based on Shakuntala’s life – Shakuntala is the daughter of Sage Vishwamitra. Vishwamitra wrote the famous Gayatri Mantra, and is one of the most revered sages of Indian history. The film is also reportedly titled Shakuntala.
Gunasekhar is about to make the announcement of this film this evening. As of now, further details about the film are still awaited.
It will definitely be interesting to see a very underrated aspect of the Mahabharata come to life in Gunasekhar’s film.
