Tough times ahead for Jagan, as CBI court speeds up hearings

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has been accused in several cases pertaining to illegal assets. The hearings of these cases were going on at a regular pace at the beginning of the year. However, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the hearings got postponed. With the Supreme Court now planning to speed up the hearings of cases of all public representatives, the CBI court too is doing the same.

Jagan’s advocate tried to reason with the CBI court, to postpone the hearing until after Diwali, but the CBI court is not said to have agreed to this request, but said that it would consider the request of conducting these hearings online.

Other cases relating to Lepakshi Knowledge Hub, India Cements, Hetero, Aurobindo, Indu Housing Board, Dalmia Cements, Indu Tech Zone. Six other cases have been postponed to be heard on November 9th, following the interim orders of the High Court.

These cases include Jagathi, Ramky, Indutek, India Cements, Penna Cements. Obulapuram Mining, in which Sabitha Indra Reddy and Gali Janardhan Reddy are also accused.
