It appears Congress MPs are following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s diktats with more seriousness than their BJP counterparts. The Prime Minister has often called upon the MPs to lead the movement to make sanitary napkins available to the girl students of the government schools at Rs 1. He said this would go a long way in promoting girl student attendance and personal hygiene.
But, see who is implementing it first. It’s Congress MP Hibi Eden. He has taken the lead in his Lok Sabha constituency of Ernakulam in Kerala and has set up sanitary napkin vending machines in over 25 government schools. The girls will now get sanitary napkins for just Re1. What more? He also got Union Minister for Human Resource Development Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank to inaugurate the scheme. This is part of the Central Government’s scheme called Suvidha, which offers sanitary napkins to girls at just Rs 1.
Thus Ernakulam Lok Sabha Constituency has become the first constituency to implement PM Modi’s pet scheme. BJP MPs, where are you? Why are you lagging behind.
