Dancer Sobha Naidu passes away, Chiranjeevi remembers the Kuchipudi exponent

Legendary Kuchipudi exponent, Padma Shri Dr Sobha Naidu passed away on Wednesday morning in Hyderabad at a private hospital. The 64-year-old was undergoing treatment for brain haemorrhage since the last few months, state reports. Chiranjeevi reminisced about the legend on her passing.
Sharing a beautiful picture of the dancer, he wrote, “Eminent Kuchipudi dance exponent Padma Shri Smt.Shobha Naidu garu’s untimely passing is deeply saddening. It is a huge loss to all of us and to the Telugu cultural art fraternity. She carried the legacy of the legend and her mentor Sri.Vempati China Satyam garu, incredibly well.” (sic) He went on to reveal that Sobha and him had great mutual appreciation for each other. “Being a great dancer herself, I felt it was an honor when she appreciated my classical dance act in the film ‘Shubhalekha’.” (sic)
Chiranjeevi also reveals that Sobha had the opportunity to pursue a career in films; instead she chose to dedicate herself to her art form. “She had the opportunity to pursue a glittering career in films, but instead chose to dedicate herself to the Kuchipudi art form as she felt that was her calling.” (sic) He even appreciated one of her more recent videos where she spread awareness about coronavirus through classical dance. “When I saw it, I immediately called her and congratulated her for her untiring efforts to use the art form for the well being of the society. I salute her for her tremendous services to Indian / Telugu culture,” (sic) he wrote, rounding off.
