It is known that the Congress has accused Asaduddin Owaisi of AIMIM of undermining its vote base in Bihar’s crucial Seemanchal region. The Congress cries that the presence of AIMIM in that region helped BJP a lot. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, a senior Congress leader termed Owaisi as a ‘vote cutter’ and asked all secular parties to stay alert.
In a region where there is sizeable Muslim Population, Owaisi fielded 20 candidates and of course at the end of the day, JDU-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is leading in several seats. AIMIM had won three seats by then and was leading in two seats, dashing the Congress’s hopes of sweeping the election in the region.
In response, Owaisi stated that “the people of Bihar have voted for us and blessed us.” It is known that Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM has already won five assembly seats in Bihar, where votes are still being counted late into the night. Owaisis said that people who are calling me a ‘vote cutter’ have a befitting reply now.
Owaisi said that all the accusations on the AIMIM are just to hide their frustration and added that their party’s handwork in Bihar began 5 years back. We have worked for the development of Seemanchal. We will decide later who we will support. “Our fight for Seemanchal will continue,” Asaduddin added.
