The first day of the Winter Assembly sessions of Andhra Pradesh went ahead with full steam, and the ruling and opposition parties went down on the other, pointing out each other’s flaws and failings with respect to what they have donw for the state. Today too, on the second day, the situation was the same, with both the parties calling out each other, and everyone on fire.
TDDP Chief and opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu, along with the other members of the TDP pointed out that they were not given a chance, or the opportunity to say anything with respect to the TIDCO houses being built for the poor.
Responding to this, Housing Minister Ranganatha Raju and Revenue Minister Dharmana Krishnadas said that the government fulfilled its promise of completing the TIDCO houses, and managed to complete 90% of the houses within just 18 months. They also said that the ruling party was falsely accused by the AP High Court, when the HC said that the government is giving away lands in Amaravati. After that, the speaker gave YSRCP member Vasantha Krishna Prasad the chance to speak.
At this, members of the TDP, along with Chandrababu Naidu, got up in their places and questioned the speaker for a chance to speak. They even kept on questioning why they were not being given a chance to speak. At this, Speaker Thammineni said that hte Assembly is like a mirror, and that whatever the members of the Assembly did, would reflect back to them, and that they all have to behave themselves.
Thammineni also said that the members of the TDP have been given a chance to speak in the past, and that they will be given a chance to speak now as well. On the other hand, several members of the YSRCP demanded an apology from Chandrababu for the scathing remarks he made at the speaker.
