Jagan’s government withdraws Disha Bill in assembly

When the YSRCP government, led by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, first announced the Disha Bill in the Andhra Pradesh assembly, the bill was met with acclaim from everywhere in the country. However, the bill hasn’t come into effect yet.

Now, the AP government is getting ready to withdraw the bill in the AP assembly, to accommodate certain changes made by the Central Government to the bill. The changes and the suggestions that the Central Government made to the bill have not been named, but the state government is said to silently be working on accommodating the changes in the bill.

For the Disha Bill with the new changes to be passed in the assembly, it would have to be reintroduced. This is probably the reason behind the Jagan government withdrawing the already existing bill. As soon as this new bill is passed, it would once again be sent to the Central Government for approval.

Jagan has taken the Disha Bill as a prestigious issue right from the very beginning, and sources say that the CM is willing to go to any extent to make sure that the bill goes into effect in AP, as soon as possible.
