It is now almost certain that the Congress High Command has zeroed in on Revanth Reddy’s name for Telangana PCC chief’s post. Though the senior leaders, especially VH is strongly opposed to Revanth Reddy’s appointment as the PCC chief, the high command appeared determined to push Reddy’s candidature.
According to insiders, as many as 21 of the 30 district units of the Congress Party have strongly rooted for Revanth Reddy. The report by party Telangana affairs incharge Manickam Tagore too has reportedly mentioned this and has strongly suggested that Revanth Reddy be made the PCC chief. Tarore reportedly suggested that the opposition from some seniors to Revanth Reddy should be firmly tackled.
However, the party leadership has also taken into account the demands of some youth leaders like Komatireddy brothers and Duddilla Sridhar Babu. The party high command is said to be seriously thinking of suitably rewarding them with plum posts. But, they would be directed to cooperate with Revanth Reddy. The high command feels that a leader like Revanth Reddy is needed to revamp the party in Telangana.
